A man known as “Butter” who was wanted by the FBI in a Louisiana bank robbery has been arrested in Jacksonville.
Dwayne Winans was being sought by the FBI and the New Orleans Police Department in connection with an Aug. 4 bank robbery in Louisiana, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Police said Winans disguised himself as a woman, wearing a long wig and bright lipstick. He was considered armed and dangerous.
Winans was spotted Tuesday about 8 p.m. at the Greyhound bus station at 10 N. Pearl St. in downtown Jacksonville where he was taken into custody without incident.
Jacksonville police said a coordinated effort was made with the FBI.
A warrant for Winans’ arrest had been issued for the robbery and an armed carjacking.
