Capitol police are investigating after a shootout led to several bullets hitting a Jackson McDonald’s.
Capitol police said two vehicles were shooting at each other Saturday afternoon on Woodrow Wilson Avenue and Bailey Avenue.
One vehicle went into the parking lot of the McDonald, and bullets hit the building near the restaurant’s children’s play area, shattering windows.
Police said one of the two vehicles wrecked, and two people inside ran away.
Ward 3 Jackson City Councilman Kenneth Stokes came to the scene after hearing about the shooting.
“We need to hurry and catch those bastards. Get em’ off the street, because they will kill an innocent person,” Stokes said.
Stokes went on to say, “We can’t just allow people’s children to go out here and shoot up the city, and parents talking about, they good children. Hell naw! They some bad bastards that need to be pulled out of Jackson, Mississippi.”
No one was hurt in the shootout.
Anyone with information is asked to call Capitol police at 601-359-3125.
